Katrina Kaif: It is one of the vagueries of the Hindi film industry that an actress like Katrina Kaif, who is born to an Indian-Kashmiri father and a British mother, is right there at the top even though she hardly speaks Hindi. What’s more, she has also done films in Telugu and Malayalam without knowing those languages either! What helps, one supposes is that undoubtedly she is the best looker in the film industry today with a sexy body to match. And also that she has been cast correctly in most of her films as by and large her roles have been fairly undemanding requiring her to look good, wear short dresses, dance a bit and smile sweetly! But to be fair to Katrina, she did carry off a role centred around her in Namastey London (2007) fairly efficiently. She also boasts the best box-office record amongst the actresses of today with most of her recent films doing extremely well at the box-office.

Was born in Hong Kong and then moved to Hawaii till she was about 14, then she moved to London. Presently, she lives in Mumbai.

Unlike other artistes from foreign lands, Katrina did not experience any difficulties in getting a visa nor of getting it extended in India.

She was discovered at age 14 as a model for a jewelry campaign.

When moving to India, she worked for photographer Atul Kasbekar and did commercials for Fevicol, Lakme and Veet among others.

She doesn’t do ramp shows anymore.

Those who thought that two successful Bollywood actresses of equal stature can’t be friends might just have to eat crow.
Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have always been pitted against each other for reasons partly inexplicable. True, Kareena is amongst the talented lot in Bollywood, while Katrina has struck fame by dint of her looks and by hitching her wagon to a star ( Akshay Kumar ). And with Kareena’s lack of diplomacy in expressing her disdain for “expressionless” actors, it was always taken for granted that Bebo has the same opinion about Salman’s babe.

But surprise, surprise, surprise! The two divas are turning out to be chums.

Bebo and Kat bonded like two chirpy sahelis at the wedding of Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladak recently. The two ladies just yapped away for hours, much to the surprise of everyone, most of all their beaus – Saif Ali Khan and Salman Khan – both of who must have felt ignored.

It’s not that the two ladies bonded because the occasion was celebratory. It turns out Bebo and Kat have been in touch since last few months. Speaking to a tabloid, Katrina calls Bebo her “inspiration on how to have a fab, healthy body” and admits taken health tips from her.

Kareena, on the other hand, calls Kat “a sweetheart…who is true to herself”.

And we thought two top actresses could only bitch about each other!

Katrina Kaif Plays Small Role in 'Blue'

Akshay Kumar's upcoming film, 'Blue' has been the talk of the town lately; with international pop star Kylie Minogue descending upon Mumbai to film an item song as well as a few scenes. With all the frenzy it might be easy to forget that there are other Bollywood stars in the film, including Katrina Kaif.

Now when you mention Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the same film, one automatically expects Katrina to have a full-fledged role in the film, remember 'Namaste London,' 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye,' 'Welcome' and 'Singh Is Kinng'? Well if that's what you expect from 'Blue' then you'll be in for a surprise!

In actuality, the film's leading heroine is Lara Dutta and Katrina is just doing an item song and a few scenes in the film. While rumors have been swirling that her role in the movie has been extended to cash in on her star value, Katrina herself confirmed that her she has a very small role in the film. Too bad for all of Kat's legions of fans!

She's already shot her scenes in Bangkok and will be shooting her item song in Mumbai soon. It's rumored that while she's paired opposite Akshay in the film (uhh... duh!) she gets killed off after a few scenes. While you'd think Katrina wouldn't be happy with that, the actress has actually known the size of her role since the beginning. Hmm... maybe Akshay had a helping hand in getting her aboard!

But Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif fans shouldn't feel too down in the dumps, because the duo will be seen in full-fledged roles starring opposite each other in the upcoming film, 'De Dhana Dhan,' very soon! A busy Valentine's Day ahead for Katrina and Salman

katrina kaif and Salman Khan won’t be together this Valentine’s Day, unless one of them decides to surprise the other.The love birds will be thousands of miles from each other on February 14. Katrina would be shooting Rajkumar Santoshi ’s film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani with Ranbir Kapoor in Turkey, while Salman would be filming Veer in North India. Apparently, the two lovers have decided to give their work precedence over their Over the years, their affection for each other has only grown stronger despite the recurring rumours of their split and gossip about Salman’s aggression towards Katrina.

And though Katrina’s being with Ranbir and Salman’s being with Kat’s lookalike on Valentine’s Day is sure to spark further rumours, the secure lovers seem inclined to stay committed to their work, unless the moody Salman makes a change in the plan at the eleventh hour and flies to Turkey to surprise his ladylove.

Mumbai, Jan 31:Katrina Kaif was declared internet’s most searched name with the highest probability of being a desktop wallpaper. That was a Google survey. Yahoo has come up with another declaring that Deepika has outrun Kats now.

Despita churning out a flop out of her martial-arts-flair in the flop ‘Chandni Chowk To China’, Deepika has managed to get the attention that is the stepping stone to success in the glamour world. Having won the most searched name in the ‘people’ category of Yahoo! India, the popularity crown of 2009 has already been taken by her.

Following Deepika, were Shilpa Shetty and Aishwarya Rai. Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor also featured in the list. Though 2008 was Katrina’s year, the new beginning shows the changing trend.
